Several factors contribute to the need for humanitarian assistance in this region:
- conflicts and violence that affect populations, including access to food, clean water, shelter and medical care, such as medical supplies, vaccination campaigns and efforts to prevent and treat diseases.
- refugee crisis: a large numbers of refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) and humanitarian assistance is essential to support these host communities and ensure the well-being of refugees and IDPs.
- education: humanitarian aid plays a role in providing educational opportunities, including providing school materials, training teachers and creating temporary learning spaces.
- children: humanitarian aid programs specifically address the unique needs of children.
Humanitarian aid in the Middle East and North Africa is essential to respond to the immediate and long-term needs of the populations.
It not only provides vital assistance, but also contributes to the stability, resilience and reconstruction of communities in the region.
