Luciana Simoes Presents Civil Diplomat Credentials at Palacio da Liberdade
The historic Palacio da Liberdade, in Belo Horizonte, hosted on 29 September 2025 a distinguished ceremony celebrating humanitarian diplomacy and international cooperation.
The event was led by Mrs. Luciana Simoes, Consul of Denmark in Brazil, in partnership with the Jethro International – Civil Diplomat Human and Humanitarian Committee.
Authorities, members of the Consular Corps of Minas Gerais and representatives of various sectors of civil society attended the event, reinforcing the growing importance of Civil Diplomacy in Brazil’s international dialogue.
Partnership and Institutional Presence
During the event, Elisangela Dias, International Director of Jethro Civil Diplomacy, and the President of the Elisângela Dias Institute highlighted the global mission of the organisation to train and empower Civil Diplomats around the world.
Among the distinguished guests were the Vice-Governor of Minas Gerais, Professor Mateus Simoes de Almeida, and representatives from the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
The Honoured Diplomat
The newly appointed Civil Humanitarian Diplomat, Lu Matosinhos, is a Brazilian entrepreneur, author and photographer. Her work bridges art, spirituality and social action.
Upon receiving the honour, she expressed that the title symbolises a deeper calling to serve and to inspire others through purpose and compassion.
Luciana Simoes and the Humanitarian Vision
With elegance and conviction, Luciana Simoes emphasised the essential role of Civil Diplomacy as a bridge for peace, cooperation and solidarity among nations.
During the ceremony, she presented the Civil Humanitarian Diplomat Credentials of Jethro International to Luciana Matosinhos Ribeiro.
In Brazil, Lu Matosinhos is acknowledge for her social commitment and humanitarian leadership.
“This is a diplomacy that comes from the heart — from compassion, awareness and the courage to transform realities,” stated Consul Luciana Simoes.
Known for her active engagement in social causes and participation in female leadership networks, Luciana Simoes represents a new generation of Diplomats — empathetic, inclusive and committed to sustainable human progress.
The ceremony concluded in a spirit of celebration and unity, symbolising the harmony between official and Civil Diplomacy — both dedicated to promoting peace, human dignity and international cooperation.
