BRUSSELS: RENATO RODYNER UNVEILS TRANSCENDENCE, WHERE ART MEETS HUMAN EMOTION

Renato Rodyner, Luso-Brazilian contemporary artist presenting Transcendence at Gate Gallery in Brussels, Belgium.

Renato Rodyner Explores Transformation Through Art’s Language

On 11 November 2026, the Luso-Brazilian artist opens his exhibition at Gate Gallery, inviting visitors to discover the relationship between colour, emotion and human experience.

What happens when colour becomes emotion, and matter begins to tell a story?

In Brussels, artist Renato Rodyner invites visitors to explore these questions through Transcendence, his new exhibition at Gate Gallery.

Opening on 11 November 2026, the exhibition brings together paintings and sculptures that explore transformation, identity and the complexity of human experience.

Through expressive gestures, vivid colours and contrasting materials, Rodyner creates a visual world where art becomes an invitation to feel, question and reflect.

Transcendence: Where Colour and Emotion Meet

At the heart of Transcendence lies a simple yet profound idea: human beings are constantly changing.

Drawing on Neo-Expressionism, Renato Rodyner explores this process through bold compositions, emotional intensity and a distinctive approach to artistic expression.

His paintings reveal the energy of movement, while his sculptures introduce new dimensions of texture, volume and physical presence.

Moreover, the exhibition incorporates iron, ceramics and fibreglass, allowing different materials to participate in the same artistic conversation.

Together, these elements create an encounter between the visible and the intangible, between what the artist expresses and what each visitor discovers.

Rather than offering fixed answers, Transcendence leaves room for personal interpretation.

Renato Rodyner: An Artistic Journey Across Cultures

Born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Renato Rodyner has lived and worked in Portugal since 1990.

His artistic journey began at an early age, leading to his first solo exhibition in 1977.

Since then, his work has crossed geographical and cultural boundaries, reaching audiences in European cities and beyond.

His paintings and sculptures have appeared in exhibitions across Europe, Asia and the Americas. His works are also represented in private and museum collections.

However, beyond the places and exhibitions, a recurring element defines his artistic language: the exploration of human emotion.

Through colour, gesture and form, Rodyner approaches art as a space where memory, identity and personal experience can meet.

Art as a Bridge Between Human Experiences

Alongside his artistic career, Renato Rodyner is a Civil Diplomat of Jethro International.

His involvement in social and cultural initiatives reflects an interest in the relationship between artistic expression and human development.

In this context, art offers another language for communication, one capable of crossing cultural and linguistic boundaries.

Indeed, a painting does not require its viewers to share the same language. Its meanings can emerge through individual experiences and perspectives.

This connection between cultural expression and human understanding also resonates with the principles of Humanitarian Civil Diplomacy.

An Invitation to Experience Transcendence in Brussels

Brussels provides a fitting setting for this encounter between different artistic influences and human perspectives.

Located in the historic Sablon district, Gate Gallery will welcome visitors to the opening reception of Transcendence on Wednesday, 11 November 2026.

For those curious about contemporary art, the exhibition offers an opportunity to discover Rodyner’s expressive universe through paintings and sculptural forms.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Transcendence is that its meaning does not belong exclusively to the artist.

It also belongs to the person standing before the work, bringing memories, questions and emotions of their own.

Art invites us to look. Sometimes, it also changes the way we see.
