The Story of Benjamin and Trisomy 21 is the story of many children: a journey of love, courage, and determination.
Portugal: Wanderson Negrelli, Civil Diplomat from Jethro, leads the project for children with Trisomy 21.
Trisomy 21 or Down Syndrome (DS) is a genetic change in cell division that occurs during the embryonic period of babies.
Thus, people with Trisomy 21, have three chromosomes in pair 21 (the smallest human chromosome), instead of having two chromosomes.
Children with Trisomy 21 are very loving and always have open and sincere smiles.
That is why they have been considered examples of overcoming and resilience.
They have diverse skills and increasingly need to have opportunities in the areas of education so that they can develop autonomy.
Wanderson Negrelli Civil Diplomat from Jethro and The Story of Benjamin
The Jethro Civil Diplomat Wanderson Negrelli has a project in Portugal to help children with Trisomy 21.
One of its projects is publishing the book The Story of Benjamin – A História de Benjamin, which aims to tell the family’s story during Benjamin’s development.
Benjamin is an extraordinary child who, since birth, has defied expectations and overcome countless obstacles.
The book also recounts the story of Benjamin’s family when they received the news of his genetic condition.
However, instead of letting one another fall, they saw Benjamin as a source of unconditional love and an opportunity to learn and grow together.
