Civil Diplomat Michelle Diniz: a Multicultural Initiative Serving Women across Algarve

Civil Diplomat Michelle Diniz is building a growing network of care, guidance and opportunity in the Algarve through Mulheres com Propósito – (Women with Purpose Institute), a social initiative centred on women and families.

What began as a small act of welcome has developed into a meaningful community project with practical and lasting impact.

Michelle Diniz built her professional path through consistency, discipline and entrepreneurship. With more than 26 years of experience in the hospitality sector, she and her husband opened Carpe Diem Portimão, located in Praça da República, in the centre of Portimão – Portugal. The restaurant became known in the region for its quality, cultural identity and consistency. This business experience helped strengthen Michelle’s connection with the local community, a context that later supported the growth of the Mulheres com Propósito project.

Alongside her business journey, Michelle started gathering women in her own home. The first meeting brought together 17 women for a moment of welcome, guidance and encouragement. Over time, that simple beginning grew into a structured initiative that now connects more than 200 women directly, while also reaching many others indirectly across Portimão and the wider Algarve.

Through Mulheres com Propósito, Michelle has offered voluntary and non-profit assistance in areas such as food, medicine, hospital referrals, clothing, blankets, emotional care and spiritual encouragement. As trust in her leadership increased, local businesspeople began contributing donations and resources. This collective effort has already helped distribute more than 200 mattresses, over 1,500 blankets, as well as beds, clothes and food baskets to families in need.

Michelle has also expanded the initiative beyond emergency response. Quarterly events now connect entrepreneurs and the local community, creating opportunities for women and families through sponsorships, prizes and practical encouragement. At the same time, she promotes female entrepreneurship through mentoring, positioning guidance and projects designed to help women strengthen identity, confidence and professional direction.

Michelle’s trajectory also includes training in psychoanalysis focused on women, as well as work in image and positioning strategy. Her portfolio presents this path as one that combines inner development, communication and personal positioning. It also highlights her role in leading Instituto Mulheres com Propósito Algarve and her work as a Civil Diplomat linked to Jethro International Civil Diplomacy Organisation.

Mulheres com Propósito Beyond Algarve

Founded in the Algarve by Michelle Diniz and her family, with the participation of Portuguese women working alongside the initiative, Mulheres com Propósito has developed as an inclusive and multicultural project. Its reach extends beyond the Brazilian community to Portuguese women and immigrants of several nationalities, including Ukrainian, Spanish, Venezuelan and Angolan women. Michelle’s work now reaches women in Portugal, Brazil, Luxembourg, the United States, Spain and Ireland, reflecting a mission shaped by consistency, leadership and real community impact.

Through this journey, Michelle Diniz represents a form of civic leadership that unites professional experience, humanitarian sensitivity and organised local action. Her work in the Algarve shows how women’s development, community engagement and practical care can move forward together with purpose.
